Title: Button setup for Virtual Pinball?
Post by: MPTech on January 29, 2006, 01:06:14 pm
I completed my cab and mounted a button on each side for playing virtual pinball and it works fine.  However, I still have the right/center/left bumps (tilts) and plunger mapped to the control panel (on top) and that is a little awkward.  I'm just wondering what the recommended setup should be.  I'm thinking the right & left bumps should also be on the side, forward of the flippers.  The plunger should probably be on the front of the cabinet.

suggestions?

Can anyone recommend their favorite V-Pinball games?

If you are that serious about replicating the true feel, there are plenty of threads here where guys have sensitivety on their cab so bumping it does shake it.  My favorite games are Terminator2, The Twilight Zone, and a fishing game, but I can't remember the name.  Big Catch or something.  I also play Ultimate Spiderman to show off the subwoofer.  It's a basic game, but the sound is sweet for effect.

Thanks for the game recomendations!  I'll try them.

As for the shake/bumper, I comsodered that, but don't want people banging the cabinet (those screws and mdf are only so srong) and I don't want them bumping it into the wall.  After a couple brewski's, this thing could get a beating!  I'll just settle for a bump "button".

So where would I find a thread? (what should I search for?) I haven't seen anything on pinball, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong forum.

thanks again!

Another quick thought is volcano style buttons on the side for your tilt.  There small, and you could put them right beside the regular button.  Putting vpinball in the search criteria should do the trick.  Also, just limit it to project announcements and the main forum for the construction end of things.
