Title: Degaussing a Wico monitor
Post by: dhansen on January 28, 2006, 10:04:21 am
Hello,

I have an old monitor I'm using for a friends project.  There is a discoloration in the upper left hand corner which I tried to get out using a homemade degausser from Oscars tutorial. www.oscarcontrols.com/degauss (http://www.oscarcontrols.com/degauss) No matter how many times I use this the discoloration will not go away.  Is there a chance this can't be fixed?

Thanks!

Doug

First thing to do is get a real degausser and try it.

Double check to be sure you have the monitor away from any magnetic fields like speakers, tv sets, motors, etc.

Thanks for the reply Ken!

The only magnet that is near by is the speaker, but it was the original one that came with the cab so I don't think that could be causing the issue...
