Is there a way to change all the screenshot file names easier than just doing it manually? I dont really like the goodnames naming system, because i dont want all the (U)(!) stuff at the end of the game names is MAMEWah. I just want the name of the game. So is there software, or something out there that will maybe take a screenshot of all my games and name the screenshot accordingly, or a program that will rename all my screenshots to the same name as the game files, or am I just kinda stuck renaming EVERY file I want changed?

i have tried that, but i cant find anything! anybody else got any suggestions?

If you already have your games named the way you want your could use gameex to take screenshots for you.
Alternatvly you may be able to make a macro ro acomplish this depending on your games and screensshots.

There's an app called renameman that will rename masses of files, but I don't think it will help you. I have used it for renaming sequential images for making video.
The reason I don't think it will help you, is because it's not all that smart. It want's all of the files that you're renaming to be named similarly already. For example it's good at taking files called something like animation0001 and renumbering all of the images one place up in the sequence.
Unless you have all of the files named similarly, I don't know what you can do.
So I really shouldn't have posted all of this useless information.

Do you actually mean rename the roms files or the screenshot files? PResumably Mamewah is only showing you the rom names not the screenshot names?
Anyway, I thought mamewah could both strip clone, (), [], info from romnames, and also 'fuzzy' match screenshot names so you don't need to rename anything? Or am I wrong?

Isnt there something equivalent to Catver.ini that would translate the goodnames file name to the actual game name?
I have yet to move on to consoles on my cab, but this is something i have always wondered also.... i set up just like 10 snes roms and mamewah shows only the filenames (- the .zip)
