I'm looking for a cheap solderless modchip solution, any recomendations?

What version Xbox do you have? I'd recomend a DuoX2 (http://www.otbmods.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_22/products_id/81) if you have a v1.0-1.5 xbox. If you have a v1.6 xbox I'd just break down and get a Xenium S.P.I.C.E. chip (http://www.otbmods.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_22/products_id/96).

It's failrly new, less than 6 months old, so I'm guessing a 1.6. I havnt taken it apart to check yet.

You probably have a 1.6 xbox. I'd open it up and verify just to make sure before you buy a chip. I guess you can still use the Xodus S.P. Adapter (http://www.otbmods.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_23/products_id/118) with a DuoX2 chip to save a few dollars. The adapter has to be modified by the seller before it will work with a DuoX2 chip though. The same way the Xodus Universal adapter was modified to work with the DuoX2 chip in the link I previously gave. A Xenium S.P.I.C.E. chip would only be about $20 more though and all the extra features it comes with would be well worth the extra money.
Are sure you can't solder the chip? If you have any soldering skill at all it really isn't that hard to just solder in a DuoX2 chip and it would save you a bunch of money.

i suck at soldering.
Everywhre i look for the SPICE chip, its out of stock. some say discontinued

The Xenium ICE chip has been discontinuted and they are about to release the Xenium Gold chip with SP adapter.
It's the exact same chip as the SPICE, but is plated in 24 Karat gold. All backorders for the SPICE will be filled with the Xenium Gold. It will come shipped with their new OS (2.3.1).
Place an order for an ICE and you'll get a Gold. Their website says they had to move to a lerger factory and they are currently producing the chips. It should on bee a few weeks until they are shipping.

I guess you could get a Xecuter 2.6 CE (http://www.otbmods.com/product_info.php/cPath/21_22/products_id/108) if you can't wait for the new Xenium chip. I haven't used an Xecuter before so I don't know if it has all the nifty extra features that are provided with the Xenium OS. From what I can tell from their website it doesn't support flashing from a USB drive. But I guess flashing the bios over a network wouldn't be that big of a deal.

That Xenium Gold chip is really cool looking. It's very small too. Not that it matters what something looks like that you will never see again (hopefully) but still....good design. I secretly hate the Xenium guys because their press releases are so ridiculous, but it's a fine chip.
