My wife's not going to like this.  The love part, not the awesome deal.

Right.  That's why I said "those of you with a Fry's nearby" and not "go to Outpost.com".

Sorry, I don't mean to come across as rude; I thought people knew that Fry's and Outpost are... well, what they are.

I bought this same deal on "black friday" and it is what I am basing my cab around. So far so good. No onboard video, but I put a cheap Fuzion GeForce MX4000 in it for $40.

Motherboard info is here: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?DetailID=502&MenuID=0&LanID=9

I picked up one of these mobo and CPU combo's from Fry's yesterday and there's nothing wrong with it.

Depends on your Fry's I guess tho I did not read the finite details of the ad.

In my neck of the woods (Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas) you have to pretty much be at the door when it opens the first day of any sale to have any chance at the better deals in the ad paper.

They do not stock enough units to last very long.

YMMV.

Check your local paper's online ads in the morning for the latest ads.  The best deals come and go in a few days.  Friday ads are usually good through the following Tuesday.

I finish work at 7:30am so I've never had trouble getting sale items ;)

The Sempron would be faster. I'd go that route especially with the marginal price diff.

I looked in the Fry's ad this morning (Dalals/Ft.Worth) and stopped by the one in Plano but they don't have that combo.  They had a pentium combo around $119.

I want that amd combo but if I order online I would have to pay shipping and sales tax...bah.

Gonna check with the other location around here.

So Ive kinda been out of the processor wars for a while, what do you guys think is better an Intel Celeron D 340 or a AMD Sempron 2800?  Reason I ask, I saw this

2 things here. #1 if you wanna get a combo and go, get the amd sempron. #2 if you wanna overclock or plan to; get the celeron, it will go as high as 3.6ghz on air cooling. But not with this mobo and youd need better ram. So to sum it up go for #1 if you just wanna install and use.
