Title: How can I go this thin?
Post by: vrf on January 26, 2006, 03:45:49 am
So I'd like to make a byrdo-style joystick with Sanwa parts. How would I mount the parts to get it as thin as this Byrdo creation? He says it is only 1.5 inches high. Does he have a sheet of metal under that CPO?

Thanks!
Vance

I don't know the answer but just thinking about it..... does it actually have to have a bottom piece?

Here's the link to one of his joysticks blueprints.... looks like there is a 1/4" bottom peice

You can get a mounting plate for the Sanwa Joysticks and then Top Mount them.  That is how he gets the box to be so thin.

Thanks for the replies! Spiffyshoes, do you mean the mounting plate that comes with the Sanwas from Himura?

So I guess then I'd have to route the wood to the depth of the plate. Or cut some plexi to fit around it.

I love that slim look in the Byrdo sticks.
