Title: cdbrown's on the move
Post by: cdbrown on January 24, 2006, 01:25:26 am
The wife and I are in the final stages of packing up the house, sorting out clothes to take and what to store before getting on a plane this Friday night and making London our new home (for a few years anyway).  Going from the warm weather (currently 33C/91F) and into the very cold (-2C/40F).  Will have a week of checking out the sights before starting work.  Purchased a laptop the other week and have saved all my favourites to it so hopefully won't be out of the byoac loop for too many days or get forgotten in the chatroom.  So to those londoners out there - will be seeing you soon.

Cheers
-cdbrown

Wow big move. Welcome to London! And Rain. And Cold. And the true joy* of London Public Transport and all your new super friendly city neighbours**.

And here's me trying to find tickets to go and live in Austrailia. See, I've been looking at Bones' Sig and I'm thinking - sea, sunshine, fast bikes, hot looking women, er... cool hat-wearing dudes and all, and I'm thinking why am I not there?

I take it that your cab is being shipped freight to join you later?  ;)

* I may be using the term somewhat loosely.

** I am lying.

Good luck with the move.

I am suprised that there isn't more of a temp difference and colder lows. I always think of colder temps for London.  Nor would I think it would get that warm.  Here in Kansas City we swing from around 5F to 100F.

I guess it gets colder in northern England though.

I'm here now and have been since 28th Jan - 7.30am and 1C outside (at home I think it's 40C).  Possible snow and rain during the day and evening dropping to -2C over night.  I better get moving, got to cram myself into a tube and try to enjoy the close confines of the carriage with hundreds of others. So far haven't had any problems and am quite enjoying myself.

Thanks for bringing this thread back up, it nearly made a month old.  I thought Bones and c64 were the only ones that cared.

Work time (that's where I get my stuff ready for mame intro videos)
