Title: WG25K7193 Monitor Board: Have it fixed locally or send it out?
Post by: Luckydevil on January 22, 2006, 08:10:25 pm
A few of you guys have been helping me along with my monitor woes and I am extremely grateful. Unfortunately I think it is beyond my skills at this point.

The monitor has a brand new flyback and cap kit, unfortunately after I installed those I forgot to plug in the remote board and it killed something else. The monitor would power up, just nothing on the screen.

I assumed it was the HOT, so I replaced it and the other large transistor with replacements. Now the monitor won't even power up.  :(

I'm at a loss and to be honest I'm pretty fed up with this monitor and would much rather just have someone else fix it.

Should I risk the local TV repair guys to fix this monitor, or can I just send out the board to someone and have them fix it? How much $$$ am I looking at considering the board needs some troubleshooting?

Thanks guys.

*(Forgot to add that I have also resoldered most of the solder points on the board since that is recommended pretty often for troubleshooting.)

Hyperspacearcade.com will repair it for a lot less than a tv shop would charge. Suggest sending it there.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a ton Ken!
