There are blank Space Duel control panels on ebay all the time. Get one and drill all the holes in it you want.
-
They're thin metal panels, not the type you just drill a hole in. I'd think he'd need to have a sheet metal stamper.

Ok, punch all the holes you want. They're still a dime a dozen on ebay. Heck, I even see them with joystick holes already punched pretty often.

i havent found any on ebay yet.

yeah, could you link to an auction? I have never seen this.
I just bought another SD panel, with all the buttons for $30. I still hate to drill more holes in it though...

I don't mean there are 50 of them on any given day, but they pop up pretty regularly. Space Duels have been getting parted out for a long time now, since the monitor is worth darn near as much as the complete game. As a result, there are a lot of parts out there. Heck, I've got one in my garage right now that's been converted to Neo Geo, complete with two sticks. Keep watching, one'll come along.
BTW, you might find more if you spell it Space Duel, instead of Space Dual. :P

It makes me cry to see it, but it's true. I suppose it's the best case scenario here given that there are probably a LOT more surviving cabs than there are monitors.
I'm going to hug my Space Duel when I get home.
