Title: Easier way to configure SlikStik in MAME?
Post by: mrdementia on January 22, 2006, 01:12:22 am
I have a Quad SlikStik, and rathe than go through and configure the 1000's of games controller setings one by one, is there an EASIER way to do this? Does MAMEWAH do this for you? (especially games like Mortal Kombat 2 etc, where it doesnt tell you anything but p1 button one)  I am assuming there MUST be a better way to do this, especially with how long this community has existed and florished throughout the years. Any help would be very much appreciated

Thanks!

Either use the "Input (general)" instead of the "Input (this game)" (I'm assuming you're using the in-game tab remappping), or use the one ctrlr slikstik.cfg file that comes with official mame but not mame32 AFAIK.  Mame32 can use that file, it's just not included in the download.  The best way to discribe now to use ctrlr files depends on if use use mame32, mame, or mame + FE. (hint, hint)

I believe slikstick also provides the ctrl file on their website.  I don't believe The ctrl file for mamewah is the same... you still need to set one in the mame.ini file for your mame installation

You can always ask slikstick for one if your controller was customized...

all you have to do is use the slikstik config & put it in your mame program
