Title: Speaker on my Vs. Super Mario cab making buzzing noise....any ideas why?
Post by: 2PacMan on January 20, 2006, 08:33:54 am
I just bought a Vs. Super Mario cabinet and the speaker is making a buzzing noise.  It's really noticeable when the game is in attract mode, once you start a game and the sound starts, it's not that noticeable.  Any idea on how to fix this?  Is the speaker going bad or is there a bad connection somewhere?  The connections on the speaker appear to be fine, but the wires go into a board on the monitor which i couldn't see w/o taking apart the monitor.  I fiddled with the volume pot and the buzzing is the same volume no matter how loud the game volume is.  Any ideas on what to do next or what the problem is?

COULD be blown, though. Usually with blown speakers they get obnoxious when you adjust the volume. Could be interference. I usually cut the cord, wire them to my stereo. If they sound good, then they're good.

Could be a bad ground, volume's too high, interference...

Is the ground plug on the power cord cut off?

Also, i think i heard Nintendo games just do that. MaximumRecoil might have an opinion on this. He owns a PunchOut
