Title: jbox and adeptus, how can you stand it?
Post by: danny_galaga on January 20, 2006, 05:46:34 am: weather lady said it was going to be 42 degrees tomorrow in adelaide :o ill translate that this once for those of you who cant picture celsius - 107.6!! phew... hope youve got airconditioning...

Post by: danny_galaga on January 20, 2006, 05:59:51 am: i knew YOU would pipe in to tell me how hot it is in sydney ;) . darwin is about 30-33 (translate 86-91 F) most days of the year. thats one of the reasons i left- its consistantly hot and bothersome. its also very humid. but im still astounded about hearing of 40C plus days in cities. apparently it will happen here in brissie too. but then, a week later it will be not so hot. where as in darwin it will be still be that annoying 30-33. having said that, it was 27 in darwin today apparently. looks like where ever i go, so does the heat! now i think about it, we used to joke about that when we went camping in france. was supposed to be wet. i decided i was the SUN KING!

damn. ive got a proper virus on my computer for the first time ever and all because i tried to install a spyware detect thingo!. might have to turn the computer off in a sec :o

Post by: jbox on January 21, 2006, 12:26:21 am: Apparently it was not me that has been troubled by the heat but my car. After an hour and a half of driving the last few days it konks out. The RAA guy said something about the petrol literally boiling, so the fuel injection system is only pumping air into the engine instead of petrol. :o

The only upside is that it is a *dry* heat. Unlike the tropics, here you can pretty much sit under a sprinkler during the lunch hour and get the evaporative cooling affect happening continuously. According to my desktop widget tomorrow will also be stupidly hot, so if anyone has any inheritence they've been itching to get at, put grandma on the plane tonight. ;D

Just take the computer out into the open. The heat would probably smack your virus (and fry your pc) ;D
