Title: video amp required for new monitor
Post by: skeighter on January 18, 2006, 01:11:01 pm
Just got a new Happs Vision Pro CGA monitor.  I had an old Electrohome G07 hooked up to a ArcadeVGA with a video amp in between.  My question is whether I can just hook the monitor up to the video amp or do I need to remove it and make a breakout cable?  Using the amp would be easiest (only have to connect the wires to the new monitor), but I don't wanna fry anything.  The new monitor says it accepts 0 to 2.4 volts on the RGB and the amp is supposed to output at 5 volts.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You shouldn't need the video amp for this monitor.  I replaced my Electrohome with a Vision Pro and it was plenty bright without the amp...even through tinted glass.
