I was wanting to know how to remove the disclaimer/warning screens from version 36 or even if that was possible yet. Or do I have to get a later versioin? This version didn't have the ui.ini file. Is there a way to do it?

Did you try to run mame using -skip_disclaimer option ?
ex :
mame pacman.zip -skip_disclaimer
-
The parameter skip_disclaimer is actually quite recent. For such old versions, you'd have to modify the source and compile yourself.

How recent? I have Mame .106 and I dont' see the skip_disclaimer option.

I got rid of it in my v.65.....

It was removed again a couple of versions ago. The disclaimer only appears if the game hasn't been run yet (so no .cfg exists in the cfg folder). So it's *once* for each game.

Why did they change this? Gosh, this totally sucks on a cab setup!!!

Because it appears exactly *once*.

It's not that big of a deal - you just move the player 1 joystick left-right, and you'll never see it again on that game. If it really bugs you, learn how to compile your own version. It's really quite simple, and it only takes a couple of minutes...

I made a version a few weeks ago that puts skip_disclaimer and skip_warning back in the ini file, if anyone wants it, just PM me with an email address to send it to.
Be aware that it is a 11MB zip file, so be sure you have room on your email account.

I also modded up a version of the windows UI mame32 to include the skip_disclaimer and skip_warnings options in the general options dialog box, making it easier to get to rather than having to edit the mame32.ini ever time you change the options.
PM me with an email address to send it to if you want it. Remember, 11MB+ attachment, be sure your email and bandwitdh can handle it!
EDIT: Be sure if you ask for either mame or mame32 to let me know if you want an processor specific optimized build or just the standard build.
