This is the kinda thing that can change from time to time as vendors come and go.
Any suggestions on where to get Wico leafswitches that will work with Wico joysticks?
Thanks in advance

bump for visibility.

They occasionally pop up on Ebay. But are pretty rare.

Ponyboy was supposed to be getting some in, but I haven't heard anything about them since he first mentioned it.
I sure hope he can get some though, I need some too.

They're hard to get. I wonder about the legal ramifications of having them repro'd.

There is a company in Sun Valley, CA called the Game Doc. Their main business is service for classic arcade cabs and pinball machines but they DO have quite a few parts in their shop.
I called em up and the guy told me he had a bin of leafswitches and he would let them go for "a couple bucks".
I'll drive out there tomorrow and see what they've got. I doubt they'd do internet orders but if you live in Southern California, they might be worth a visit for the occasional item.
I would still like to find an internet vendor though. Like Peale for example?

If they do in fact have nice WICO leafswitches, and you'd be willing, I'd love to get some. I'd pay you for your trouble and shipping of course :)
You'd just have to double check that they are actually for the WICO joys. Hopefully the guy would know the difference though.

I've been to the shop before. It was like an amusement park just for me. A huge warehouse full of all kinds of working and non working machines. And then their parts inventory!... they had all kinds of stuff. I bought 16 really nice pcb mounting feet for like $6.
The owner of the shop is a great guy who knows his stuff, loves his job and even knows a thing or two about mame and what not.
His employees on the otherhand have no love for their work. I almost wish I could work there, but then I would be single, fat(er) and living in an apartment in the ghetto.

If the bin actually turns out to have the proper Wico switches in it, you should grab all of them. There's always somebody looking for them around here. I could use a few myself.

Any patent on something like that is probably expired. (Leaf buttons where around back in the early days of Pinball, no?)

False Alarm.
The guy was mistaken. Yeah he had a bin of leafswitches but they are for joysticks and he didnt know that there was a difference.
I still bought (2) at $2/each and I may someday modify them to work on the stick if I have too.
So ebay it is huh?
On the left is what I dont want a button leafswitch, on the right is the joystick leafswitch.
