Im looking for some sanwa flash joysticks. I no this is a long shot but I dont know anywhere else to get them. If you have any you are willing to sell let me know what you want for them.
-
be prepared to pay some serious dough for Flash Sticks, last I saw was about $120 each stick
-
I was hoping for around a $100. I know there not cheap
-
Wow! I knew they weren't cheap but this is a LOT of money for a stick. (Does it cook bacon as well?)
Are they so expensive because they're getting rare or because it's exquisite hardware?
-
They were pretty expensive to begin with. They used to be the same price as a Happ P360 when they were in production. Now that they are out of production they are so expensive because they are rare. Also because they are such great sticks that no-one wants to part with them.
-
i'm looking for these as well, 2 of them ^_^
-
spiffy is right, no-one wants to let them go.
if Sanwa ever did another run of them, I swear I'd buy loads and stash them in a cupboard. normally I only use seimitsu LS32's but the flash sticks really are something else
best part about it tho , I actually have 2 spares that I wont use for that exact reason - they aren't produced anymore so if they broke I wouldn't be able to replace them Yes - I'm anal  ) so they haven't been used ( I think you US folks would say Mint in a Bag ? ? )
maybe if I offered them up in trade for a night with Jennifer Love Hewitt ;) . . . .
I dont think there are that many peoples in the UK who use them, when I've discussed them in the past some folks did'nt know what the hell they were - its not good when people look at you strange :-\
quick question actually, if the Sanwa flash sticks I do use did break for any reason, would they be repairable with parts from the happs P360's ? I am sure I read that they use the same optical board.
-
most likley megalo
btw i still hate you for your hose of dreams... <crys> :-P
-
normally I only use seimitsu LS32's
What types of games do you mostly play, since I heard the Seimitsu's were a favourite among the shmup-crowd?
I've never used an optical stick before, and to be honest I think it would take quite some time getting used to because I like to 'use' the clicks of the microswitches to tell me where I'm going. I like the tactile feel of it.
Wouldn't an optical joystick feel more like an analog stick?
-
actually I play fighters, I've had this discussion on these boards before aswell, I feel the that the seimitsu sicks are quieter (leafblade switches onstead of loud microswitches) take a lot more hammer/ are more hardwearing and the sticks themselves flow better than sanwa's for doing qcf etc style movements - there also a damn sight easier to repair if one switch starts to mess up, with Sanwas you either have to replace the entire PCB with the 4 switches on or de-sodler each switch individually.
as for them feeling like analogue sticks, yea I s'pose thats one way to describe it, but they snap back into neutral position far better than any analogue stick I've ever used

heh - seems there are more than just this thread asking for the Flash Sticks, muell - it would appear a chap on shoryuken sells them for $150 shipped
http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107130
I wouldn't let mine go for $150 shipped (cos UK shipping costs to US sux --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules--) but as I've said there - $150 plus shipping. . . . . i'd live with just having the 2 in my supergun and not have any spares, I dont use my supergun thesedays anyway
-
The chap who is possibly selling them on shoryuken isn't from the US either. He is from Sweden. ;D
