This looks like a pretty solid deal from CompUSA:
CompUSA Link (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=335974&ref=cj&pfp=cj)
-
I edited the link to bring it right to the site. The SlickDeals.Net link tossed it thru a bunch of referral proxies. I have my hosts file set to 127.0.0.1 for a bunch of known spyware and adware hosts, and it wouldn't even go to the site until I killed it.
If I had a spare $500 to blow until I could get those rebates I'd be all over this.

we got one day to make our minds on buying it :P
chances are, when CompUSA has a good deal, they usually have 1 or 2 to sell and thats it. It always happens to me, when I see something good and I go there, its all gone (its only been 5 hours when they open).
-
Hey, that's better notice than you get with some deals.
-
sorry bout dat.
-
I was able to get one for my mom. They sold out of them within about 30 minutes of opening the store though.
-
just like I mentioned above, I was there at the opening hour (9:00am) and sure enough, they don't have it. Sometimes I think they put up ads that they only have 1 or 2 left just to get SUCKERZ (like me) in the store and buy other CRAP I don;t need on sale :)
But I have good news for NY MANHATTAN people, it seems that they still have (maybe 1 hehe ) available.

CompUSA is notorious for "losing" mail in rebates and never actually sending out checks.
Keep back up copies of EVERYTHING that you send to them, and when you do send in the mail-in-rebate, spring for the extra postage for receipt-verified delivery.
If you haven't hear from them in the time alloted, call them and start nagging them until they get you your rebate check.
-
CompUsa has an Online-Rebate, so nothing gets mailed and you can check your rebate status to make sure its processed.
The only thing you have to watch out for, when you return the product for exchange, somehow the online e-rebates, they screw it up. Somehow they lose you record for re-bates. So, my suggestion on this is just return the product, then BUY another one, don't exchange it.
Well anyway, since I was there to find out my hunch was correct (they don't have the one they advertised), I bought the Ninja Case 2 instead. After rebates, it only comes down to $20.00 and it came w/ 400 W PS.

just in case anyone is interested, they are having a 250GB drive for $60.00 after rebate too. I was temped on buying, but held back. You have until 1/20 to get it anyway. And also the cases i mentioned above, you have till 1/20.

Looks like their advertising method is working then. ;D

I havent had any problems with CC's rebates in the past. And I did buy their extended warrany on a TV a couple years ago and that has been great. Their overall selection isn't as broad as Best Buy, but I love shopping their compared to Best Buy and their idiot employees who stand around and do NOTHING to help people at the customer service desk.
