Hello any advise on this would be great as im stuck and ready to get out the big hammer...........
Ive got a pc set up running mame 32 ver .61
the spec of the pc is this
amd k6 500mhz
40 gb hdd
384 mb sd ram
64mb g force 440 agp grafix card
windows xp with sp2 installed
the games are running slow some like street fighter are running at 30 out of 60 fps
even simple games like bubble bobble are running a little slow with choppy sound.
ive had pc's around the same spec running games fine so was wondering should i up my grafix to 128mb or leave that as it is and spend the money on ram upgrading to 512mb ??
i dont want to spend the money on the wrong thing if i can solve the problem with just buying one of them.
ive messed with differant versions of mame32 going right down to ver.35 but with no better perfomance.
if anyone could shed some light and help me out that would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance ;D

Its your computer you will not get anything out of mame32, you will have to run old dos mame, to be honest what i would do is sell the computer on ebay for 50 or 60 bucks & put the money towards a amd, i just built a mame computer for a friend it was a amd 200 xp for $110.00 & it runs all but the newest chd's or strip the parts out of that computer & use some of it in a amd, i just would not waste my time on a system that old

keep the video, hard drive & dump the rest for a newer amd

the k6 is simular to a pentium II, for the most power for your dollars a amd chip is much better, im running a amd 3000 64 chip with a gig of ram & i can 99% of the roms perfect, with my 2000 chip i can run 90% perfect
thanks
