I know this has been done but that was awhile ago and I'm getting musically bored..I know theres a guy named Matisyahu a reagge singing jewish rabbi. He sings king without a crown anybody got anything else ?
-
Not sure what you like, but I've found The Arcade Fire - Funeral to be a great album. The bands name is purely coincidental.
The Standard - Wire Post To Wire is good at times as well. These are two brand-spanking new bands.
If it's just "new to you" music you're interested in, list a bunch of stuff you're into and I'll try to recommend something you might like. My tastes are all over the map and I've got a music collection of over 2000 albums.

Hey, Matisyahu is very unique and he's got a great sound. You have to watch the video.
The new Franz Ferdinand album is very good.

Of course, just in case you haven't heard of them, I'll include these guys:
Interpol
The Von Bondies
Elf Power
Mates of State
If you like multi-instrumentalist (think really cool movie soundtrack sounding stuff), which I assume you might since you like Arcade Fire, you may also enjoy the following:
Godspeed You Black Emperor
A Silver Mt. Zion
Rachel's
Black Heart Procession
I'm also into ethnic sounding stuff, so i'd like to recommend:
Gogol Bordello (Very good gypsy-punk) (video (http://www.gogolbordello.com/chronicles/video/purple/))
Komeda (Scandanavian, pop-electronica)
mrC
/really like recommending music.

Rogue Traders
Here Comes The Drums is a great album.
-
"Bastard" by Dunkelwerk is good for a chuckle.
-
Interpol is really great, I also really like the Libertines "Up The Bracket". It was produced by Mick Jones of the Clash.
-
I'm still loving Death From Above 1979, I could listen to Romance Bloody Romance every day.

Speaking of Interpol, there's a new band out that's pretty much exactly the same...and normally this would piss me off, since it seems like a complete rip-off, but I can never get enough Interpol anyhow. So they get a pass. It's really good too.
The band is She Wants Revenge and the album is self-titled.

Yeah, and considering Interpol is kind of a rip off of the Joy Division.
-
Hehe...yeah, well...there's that. ;) But they're enough of an evolutionary step forward that it's forgivable.

Morningwood is quite new (came out with their first CD on the 10th), and the singer has big boobs...I'm too easy to entertain.

Got a link? I used to know an all-girl band in Austin TX called "Morningwood" My guess is that this isn't the same band, but you never know.

Some of it's a little too poppy (I'm a metalhead mostly), but it grows on ya.
Check out the videos....The background samples on "Jetsetter" sound like they're from some arcade game. They're not from Austin, but rather New York from what their site says.
-
If you like Interpol check out B.R.M.C. or go classic with some Stone Roses and Kula Shaker.
-
Not very new, but amazing bands nonetheless. Give some Sonic Youth or Radiohead a listen.

How the hell did I fall for that? You swine! >:(
-
I set Pandora as my desktop, it's such a good idea.
-
Wow. I really like pandora. Thanks for the link -- I had never heard of it before.
A few of my recent favorites (released in after 2000).
Fiery Furnances - Blue Berry Boat
Black Keys - Rubber Factory
Delgados - Hate

For my money, nothing beats allmusic.com (http://"http://www.allmusic.com"). Type in an artist, then scroll down to 'Similar Artists'. I've also found great bands through the 'Influenced By' and 'Followers'.
Now, mind you, it doesn't play songs for you...but with a little effort, I can usually track down a sample on the web (amazon, etc). Allmusic is the most detailed database I've ever found on the web.
