ok i would like a suggestion of roughly how much wiring i would need for a four player
controls panel
including :
4 Joysticks
8 buttons each player
4 character select buttons
4 credit buttons
and 3 admin buttons
can some one draw a conclusion of how much wire feet is needed
i was thinkin 25 ft of red(or any color) and 25ft of black for ground should cover it but i don't know really so..........
thanks

Buy a range of colours. Wiring a 4 player control panel with only black & red will cause you massive headaches.
Buy how much? Buy some and then if you run out buy more.

the thing is i can't find any in my houston area so im ordering it from either peale or http://www.jammaboards.com/
so if im gonna order i would like to order once not hassling with S&H
thks for input yeah im thinkin 6 differenct colors 1 for ground, 4 one for each player, and 1 for admin and others

My project used 2 of these WIRING LOOMS (http://www.ozstick.com.au/prod_wiring.html) but I also used other wire as well.
I figure 3-4 bags of the listed contents would have covered my requirements. (6 joysticks and about 40 buttons)

dude, its just wire! i would be very surprised if there is no wire available in Houston! try auto-parts stores or auto electricians, stereo places etc...

Maybe there are no cars or stereos in Houston.
Hey isn't that where NASA is? Give them a call, see where they get their wire from.

From North Korea most likely.
Best to do what Bones said and get a loom with heaps of purty colours. Makes the insides look really complicated and the chicks dig that!
