Hi Guys!
Does anybody know, who is manufacturing and selling the full set of vynil artwork for an Atari Star Wars, full cockpit cabinet?? Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Classic Arcade Grafix sells it for $275. I've never used them, but I hear good things.

Make sure you do a search on this forum and RGVAC for feedback about this company.
The quality of their artwork (digital, not silk-screen) can vary greatly, dependant on the quality of their files and the original source.
Feedback seems to sway from one end of the scale to the other.
FYI.

Thanks for the tip! I will check that out..... Do you know of any other suppliers for the full cockpit artwork??

If you're so inclined the CAGA has it scanned in parts...I don't even have enough RAM to take on such a large stitching task, but somebody's gotta do it.

You've heard good things? You have 8 posts on this board. Unless something has changed, their quality sucks as*

Thanks Guys....
Minwah... I'm in the UK as well. I'm using your front end, (as most people do, so damned good!) The trouble with getting anything printed on vynil over here is that the costs are way way higher than ordering it form the USA. Even when you account for the shipping.
Rohan, Thanks for the caga link.... I've downloaded the full set now and I'm just starting stitching it together. I may vectorize the whole lot to shrink the file sizes.
The artwork on the original cab is pretty bad. To be honest, so bad that in most areas it's not worth saving. Lots of deep scratches and gouges that have to be dealt with. So as soon as I have a replacement set (from somewhere) The original can be trashed. But I'm only going to do that if I've got a near 100% match, replacement set.

koolmoecraig , I built my first cabinet in 2000. I've been hanging around numerous boards off and on since then. Sorry I've only posted here a few times, but posts are irrelevant versus posts read. Thanks for jumping on someone you know nothing about. Your character has shown through. If you think they "suck as*" as you stated, that's good relevant input for this thread. My number of posts isn't.

Fair enough.
The Q*bert side art that I ordered from them arrived faded with incorrect colors and was not even cut the proper shape. The bezel that they sent me had washed out colors with bubbles in the laminate.
The stuff seriously looked like they were printed on a primitive ink jet.
The only person that I use for my printing is Scott at www.mamemarquees.com his quality is OUTSTANDING.
That being said, my experience with them was about a year ago. Maybe they have gotten their crap together since then. Hell, that Star Wars cockpit art is only $275 plus UK shipping. Care to take a chance on that Fozzy?
-
And now that I think of it, screw giving them a second chance. If you would have seen the crap that they sent me, you would not have believed that they actually thought that it was OK to ship. That is no slip up.
The black part of Q*berts eye was even smeared!

Fair comment given your experience of them.... I may well try and find somebody in the UK that doesn't want and arm a leg and few pints of blood just to print some vynil.... I don't like my chances of finding a printer but it's worth a go.

I second that. And I've used both mamemarquees and CAG. I'll never go back. Mamemarquees is excellent, and they guarantee/stand behind what they send. The color gamut of CAG's printing is limited and causing ashy blacks and banded gradients from RGB.
-
Looks like I might well be taking a quote from mamemarquees then... I'll see how it goes. and I'll post some pictures of the cab when I get it done.
Thanks again for the advice guys!

Please do post! I'm envious of anyone with a star wars cockpit! I just got my new marquee from mamemarquee and agree with the previous posts. It's awesome. Good luck.

Back on this :P
The links given on this post aren't available anymore :'(
Where is the place to go now for buying Star Wars cockpit side arts ? (and other parts too, like the roof in plexiglass by the way  )

Scott Evans has the orginal Atari Art films used to orginally screenprint this art
and has posted on the KLOV forum I have sent him an email requesting the use of these films for a possible limited silkscreened run of this art. for those that know my work voice your opinions on that thread to hopefully make it happen.
