Title: WG K7602 Front Control Board
Post by: thebrownshow on January 10, 2006, 02:12:38 pm
I was looking through some of my stuff yesterday, and I found the front control board that was inside my cabinet when I bought it.  It wasn't connected to anything at the time, was just kinda lying inside the cabinet.

My monitor is a WG K7602, and the front control board looks like the one mentioned in the K7600 manual.  Is there any way to connect this thing?  It'd be great to be able to control the V-Size from inside the coin door.

If your monitor is working fine w/o this board, then this remote control board is for another K7000 monitor because a monitor without a remote control board will not work properly.

Only late production k7000 series monitors had a remote adjustment board. If you monitor has about a 3 foot cable with a red flat connector on the end of it then this board would go with it.

Warning: the connector is not keyed and can be plugged in backwards thus damaging the monitor.

Thanks Ken, don't have that cable, so I'm assuming there's no way to hook this thing up, even if I wanted to?

If yours has all the adjustments mounted in a line on the main monitor board then yours does not use a remote. You could ebay the remote board and make a little money (it's worth about 20 bucks).

Yeah, they're all lined up on the back.  I'll post it in B/S/T first I guess.

Thanks for all the advice, Ken, don't know what we'd all do without ya.

Ken,

I've got a K7000 series monitor with a remote board that I cracked a pot on.  I just bought a used replacement.  (It does not look like the one in the pics, the pots are in 2 rows instead of one.)  When I'm replacing it, is it possible to put mine in backwards by mistake?  If so, how can I make sure the right side is up?  I unplugged the current board when I was moving the cab, and I'm honestly not sure if I plugged it back in correctly.

Thanks again,
Bill

Here's where the fun starts: The k7000 series had two different remote adjustment boards made during the production run. The earlier one is the long skinny one. The later, more common one is the small square one with 6 pots on it. They are wired differently.

Bob Roberts sells both individual pots and a complete set of pots for the later small square boards.
