Does anyone know if Wico 3.5" balltop sticks (NOS) are compatible with Happ Supers?
I'm trying to find the cheapest way to get two balltop joysticks without having to order them and pay extra shipping. If they were compatible, then I could order the supers and the wico sticks from ponyboy and save on shipping.
I did a search but could only find a reference to Happs Comps..

Another option would be Versa-Ball sticks from GroovyGameGear.com tho I realize you are trying to save on shipping....
....but perhaps your plans call for a Key-Wiz or GP-Wiz encoder.
Food for thought.
Best of luck with your project.

I'll defer to NoOne=NBA= below
All shaft specs are in this thread:

The FACTORY Wico sticks will fit the Super bases, but not vice-versa.
You will need to top mount though, or the stick will be too short.
I'm not sure about Ponyboy's repro sticks; but I'm sure he will tell you, if you ask.

The diameter fits, though it's smaller by like 1 mm (no big deal really).

I am a complete noob and have never seen an exploded joystick up close, nor how the shaft connects to the base. Does the 1 mm difference affect the union of the two parts? Am I going to have to jimmy a 1 mm piece of plastic along with the shaft?
I was going to buy ultimarc Jstiks along with the IPAC encoder, but Ultimarc is all out of encoders! So I am bidding on an IPAC on ebay. So this leaves me searching for an alternate source. I asked ponyboy and he suggested I ask the forum.

Personally I don't think the 1mm makes any difference. You could easily wrap a piece of electrical tape if it really was bothersome.
-
I think the wiggle is annoying. If you do it, wrap it with the tape to take up the slack.

Don't bid too much on ebay. I think Andy (ultimarc) is on vacation, so there will be Ipacs available when he gets back. Also chech out groovygamegear for encoders. I have had great succes with both ultimarc and GGG components.
