Ok, I am aware of holding F2 and F3 to get past thee eeprom check, however, I can't get that far. I am running mamewah with mame.103. WHen it starts loading the game (extracting the zip I believe) it just goes back to mamewah.
The DOS screen flashes something very very fast, as far as I can tell it is missing part of the ROM. (Yes i have the zip and chd, the zip contains 1 file : simpbowl.25c)
I thought this worked in Mame on a realtively fast pc? Am I wrong, or am I really missing part of teh rom?
THanks

Run it from a cmd prompt so that you can see the error.

Ok - finally got a chance to check running from command line. Here is the error
999a01.7e file not found
Error: required files missing, the game can not be run
Any clues?
Thanks

Now I just need to figure out how to release the damn ball when playing.
-
Roll the trackball. ;D
-
It took me a while to figure out that you dont roll back then forward, just forward when in the green area.

Can this game be played with joysticks?
Thanks,

Can this game be played with joysticks?
Not really. Maybe with one of those analog joys.
The force and angle that you roll the ball at determines where and how fast the bowling ball moves. So...
-
Okay...need trackball then.
Is the game fun? does it run perfect on MAME? Does it take a
lot of power?
Lot of ?'s, as always with me.

You'll need a pretty fast CPU for it. Personally, I think there are much better bowling games than Simpsons Bowling.
-
Simpsons Bowling is pretty good for the Simpsons nostalgia, but I think that World Class Bowling is a much better game.
