Title: Logitech X530 Speaker Set for $50 at CompUSA
Post by: mccoy178 on January 08, 2006, 03:48:04 pm
Thought I would mention these speakers.  I used the 2.1 surround in two cabinets I built and paid 50 for those.  Now they have the 5.1 surround for $50.  They sound great and IMO are the best bang for the buck in a cabinet.  I really like the setups that have speakers straight on and two on the side to create a full room sound.  Just an idea for the noobs out there.

P.S.  The volume control is built into the bottom of one of the speakers, but I just placed it in a Radio Shack work box.  Worked out great!

DISCLAIMER:  I do not work for CompUSA or Logitech, nor do I own any of their stock. ;D

I have a set of these speakers.  I got them at an after christmas sale for $30.  They are a great set of speakers.

Anyone crack these open or are these trapped (i.e. useful only in their little pods)?

I'm headed off there to pick up a rebate form tomorrow anyway, now I have to tell my wife where you live so she knows who to beat for me having to spend more money tomorrow.  You're in trouble!  Tip - the frying pan in the left hand is just to fake you out before she brings the heat with the right! ;D

Your wife and mine must have attended the same school of marital arts!  Yeah, that right can be a bit#$!

I may have misunderstood your question.  The speakers them selves are pretty much only held on my the plastic interior.  The entire exterior can be dropped, but you would have to create some sort of holder for them.  Otherwise, the speakers don't have the nice little screw holes around the perimeter.

Gotcha.  I was hoping for something about this size and to be able to take off the front and screw it to the inside.  Meh.  Mebbe I'll pick it up for my HTPC.  I checked out the CompUSA flyer, and I noticed htey were speaking to me.  Told me "we'll give me $20 to take 'em to Tijuana, mang".  How can I resist an offer like that?

The only offer I ever got like that cost me 3 to 5.  Thank god for probation. :police:

Once they are decased, they do have a nice flat front on them if that helps any.
