I am looking at doing this for my CP wiring. These things, I am all but positive use a standard 50 pin Centronics connector (printer type). It qould help make a nice neat set of connection.

Don't do it, I have to leave right now. I'll be back later tonight to post why.

ooo.....the suspense!!! :o

Sorry about that, I'm back now. I had to take my wife to the local Chinese Buffet for a little grazing with the in-laws.
You don't want to use that wiring block unless you have a straight through cable with a centronics end. If your thinking of using a printer cable don't do it. Printer cables don't use all the pins so they don't contain enough wires. This terminal block looks to me like it would complicate things unecessarily.
I used a much simpler and cheaper 25 pin serial extension cable. I think its also a pretty clean way to go. (http://mame.hower.us/willow/IMG_7846.JPG)
Just make sure whatever cable you decide to use is a straight through cable with a wire for every pin. If your doing a joypad hack you might want to use a terminal block to simplify the wiring between the plug and your hack.

That is why I had said 'printer type' to describe the connection. The link to the auction was for a 25 pair cable, wired to a centronics connector, for use with a office phone patch panel. (not sure if it is call a patch panel, but that is what it looks like.)

So what are you going to plug into the centronics connection if a printer cable won't work?
$24 for a used punch down block seems steep to me.
