I'm having issues connecting my Keywiz Eco to my computer. I sent an e-mail to (randyt?) techsupport@groovygamegear.com, but i thought I'd post here also. Here's what's up:
It says

I'm da bomb? WOW I'm flattered. Thanks!
;D

As stupid as this may sound, but are you sure you don't have it plugged into the mouse PS/2 port?
-
I had (still have) the same issue.
I gave up and use only the default set and switched to Linux.
Mame works fine, because you can remap the keys in mame.

Yes, I'm sure it's plugged into the keyboard PS/2 port. If it weren't, it shouldn't even show the keys being pressed.
Also, I can't remap the escape key as far as I can tell... if you figure out a way, please let me know and I suppose I can not use the software =\

Hi Raybdbomb!
Have you tried the ECO on another machine? How does it work? I had to flash the BIOS of my machine to get it to work. That mobo had a 1 yr old BIOS and it was NIB...
Good Luck!

What OS? You need different software for pure DOS (I think).

Do you mean to remap it in MAME? If so - INPUT-USER INTERFACE-UI CANCEL
-
Use a util like GhostKey and look for a shorted input or a microswitch with the wires on the wrong terminals.
When in Ghostkey, hit the Shazaaam! button a couple of times to see if something is stuck.
Drop me an email with your results.
Thanks,
RandyT

@Boinkxp: technically speaking I don't remember the model # of the motherboard, and I'd rather not disassemble it at this point. But if nothing else works, I will do that as a last resort, thanks.
@Tiger-Heli: It's Windows XP. Also, I'm not sure what you meant by "- INPUT-USER INTERFACE-UI CANCEL"...
@RandyT: Thanks for the response. I found GhostKey and will try that this evening when I get him and let you know.
Thanks for the help so far.

Well, that makes it so technically speaking I don't HAVE to have the encoder work, I could use all of the defaults as a worst-case.

True, and you could program MAME to Esc when one of the Shazaaam'd inputs was pressed (for example, "PgDown" or "=").
Bigger question is are you sure you REALLY need all 32-inputs.
I used them on my KeyWiz-based panel, but mostly because they were there (oh, and 98% of the time I just use the default set and don't reprogram it).
