Title: happs super
Post by: ptpeter on January 05, 2006, 07:03:06 pm
hi,

I would like to say that this forum has been very helpful. I bought the project arcade book a few months ago and think it's very helpful but this site is crazy helpful. so thanks guys.

my question is pretty simple, i for some reason have not been able to find a clear answer while diggin through old threads:  How hard is it to switch a happs super joystick between 8 way and 4 way? Do i  need anything special? I understand i need to get access to my CP but is there much work involved? I really need to know because im giong to be ordering my parts asap. Thanks again!

There' something like 7 parts that you need to assemble. One of them is a small hourglass shaped piece of plastic. It can slide on the shaft 2 ways, one of them 4-way, he other is 8-way. Many people accidentally assemble their sticks in the wrong mode the first time.

To change from 8-way to 4-way you have to remove an e-clip from the bottom of the shaft and then flip over the actuator (hourglass shaped plastic piece).

I used the J sticks from Andy at Ultimarc.
