I want to make my jukebox have the appearance of a plastic shell or at least a super smooth glide and feel. Is it possible and/or feasible to add some sort of plastic coating or fiberglass to my finished frame? Do companies do that sort of thing, or better yet, can I successfully?

It is possible to fiberglass over wood. Just be prepared for lots and lots and lots of sanding, filling, sanding priming, sanding...well you get the picture.

ugh..................... :-\ I plan on doing some heavy research on this one. I'm only building one juke.

Several coats of paint at an auto body shop.

Good idea. That may just work.

Look into wetsanding. Some dish soap, water, and one of those 1/4 sheet sanders (the kind that are square with no vacuum holes) work miracles. You can easily get a mirror finish with metal, and can work up quite a high gloss with standard polyurethane too.
