Before I made a full sized cab, I thought I would start off by making a small one. I had only previously made some sticks to use with consoles, so this was a tremendous learning experience. I was only able to fit 2X4 ft pieces of mdf in my car, so it ended up being a 2/3 scale galaga. I made it slightly wider to accomodate the TV.
It's pretty standard except for a few minor differences. I mounted a 4 way sanwa underneath the 1/2" CP so that the stick was lower like it was on the original machine. I also used some smaller sized sanwa buttons for the 1&2 player buttons since they were more to scale (i kept the fire button big though). Next time i get some sanwa/seimitsu stuff, I'll get a smaller ball top (yah i know its not a big deal). I actually didn't put the tv in yet, but i'm pretty much finished wiring up the 4 in 1 that its going to run.
I have to say kinkos came through for me big time, as they only charged me $32 for the art (CP, sidearts, and kickplate on vinyl). Even though I thought the cab construction was mediocre, finishing strong with the art really made it look good. Although it took a while to get it, the marquee from emdkay lights up very nicely and is very well done.
I'm gonna need ure guys' help when I start making my full sized (i'm still doing rough sketches).

one more for no apparent reason...

Very, very nice!
Hard to tell it's a mini though without some type of size reference.....

Looks very nice. Good and clean. What electronics are you using? Mame? Arcade PCB? Jakks handheld?
-
it looks lovely......
just wished mine was turning out like that :-\

i'm just putting a jakks in there, because it's not going to be used much with the full sized mame machine in the same room (i'm gonna start cutting for it any day now!)
Harpal, I only have very basic knowledge and skills- you can make a cab that is at least as good as mine if not better. You can slack all you want on the construction- you can compensate alot when you do the finish. Take your time to prime and do several coats of paint (i sanded in between) and don't slack on the art.

dont think you will say that after you seen mine.... ;D
