Title: weird question: battery powered power source
Post by: juggle50 on December 30, 2005, 02:59:06 am
I'm building a desktop controler and I'm going to put in all sorts of LEDs.  Does anyone know if a battery powered power source is available?  I want to turn the lights on even when it is not plugged into a wall socket or computer.

Questions:

Does it exist?
Is it rechargable?
Does it supply lines to both 12 and 14 volts (not a big deal)
Is it mountable?

thank you for your help

A remote control car battery may be what you need.  These are rechargeable.  Do a google search on RC car batteries and you will find a wealth of information on how to even build your own with bulk cells.

yeah, sub c nicads are pretty cheap. a couple of those will run a quinbillion leds for several hours (",). nicads are 1.2 v . build a pack to suit. just get cheapies- you are not racing a 100mph fast electric hydro!
