Which newsgroup is related to MAME questions and such?

Is it a.b.e.mame or is there another main one?

You're already in the right place.
alt.games.mame is pretty dead. About 30 posts a day or so.

 Well, there is another mame newsgroup:

 alt.binaries.emulators.mame

 which is usually active
