Dragon's Lair and Donkey Kong. There's just no beating the games you played so much as a kid.

Lately I've been a huge fan of Track & Field and Robotron. Mainly because I suck at them, and can always improve on my high scores.

I'm a big fan of Q*Bert, Joust and Asteroids. I also have a fondness an obscure game I used to play when I worked in an arcade in the early 80s: Jump Bug. But my favorite game is Tempest, however, I've yet to get a mame setup that brings back the original feel of the game.

If you actually look at that thread, you'll see dozens of links to threads as new as this month about favorite games, or what games to try.

I hardly consider that a "problem" :) ;)

I think that not only is well said, but probably enough said. And if you can't find your game on MAME, odds are it ain't emulated.
At any rate, to get to the heart of this thread, Pac-Man, Centipede, Asteroids (first arcade game I probably ever played regularly), Missle Command, Dig-Dug, et. al
Occasionally I run across some rare / strange ones that no one here in the US heard of, such as Aqua Rush...not well emulated yet, some sound issues, but man is that fun to play (think "reverse Tetris with bubbles.") Very challenging and relaxing all at the same time.

I've always liked the 194X fighter plane games. And of course the old favorites like TMNT.
