Hi y'all.
-
If it is a Sony, I know of a great guy in New York who has fixed mine. My Vaio has a terrible b.s. internal heat issue that typically causes ram issues, but in my instance, melted my power contact on the motherboard!!!! There has been so many issues with it, this guy fixes sony only I believe. I bought one of those fan pads at Bestbuy and that fixed my issues for good I believe. He fixed the laptop for under $200 where Sony wanted like $800. I will say this, opened it up before sending it out, and it was a pain in the rear to take apart. Layer after layer of tiny screws and misc. things.

Thanks mccoy, It's not Sony, it is a Fry's store label made by ECS (G550):

I'm hoping to find a good repair person here on the board, but have to keep options open. I don't have a lot of money invested yet, just trying to keep expenses in the "used" laptop range if you know what I mean, what with the prices of new Dells starting at $499! I'm thinking that if it's just a small solder, it can't be that big of a deal, maybe I'm wrong? I have taken it apart somewhat, a pain in the rear, you got that right!
Anybody else have any leads?
Thanks, ARCADIAC!
