I've got the latest versions of MAME & MAME32 installed on a
Windows 2000 machine. I recently bought a Betson/Imperial
27" arcade monitor. I've got it hooked up and MAME works for
the most part.
One problem I'm having is with Vertical games. I can get them to
display upright, but I can't get it NOT to stretch them full in both the
horizontal and vertical direction (at least not running from MAME32).
I've tried changing the stretch setting to only stretch in the horizontal
or vertical direction, but that doesn't fix it.
Any ideas?

I'm having the opposite problem using ArcadeOS with ArcadeVGA. Vertical monitor games display 90 degrees off and I don't want them to be rotated. I want vert monitor games to resize for a horizontal monitor.

Hi,
You might play with the screen_aspect option. For example, if you want to fill a vertical game on a horizontal screen and don't care that the aspect ratio will be way off, just run it with a screen_aspect 3:4 instead. This will fill the screen.
Good Luck!

I'd set "enforce aspect ratio" checked, "clean stretch" to auto, "stretch using hardware" checked, aspect ration to 4:3, and the resolution size to whatever you know works. The most important is "enforce aspect ratio".
FWIW, you tried setting the "clean stretch" to horizontal or vertical. What that means it makes sure it's stretched by a integer in that dimension to fit on the screen, not that it only stretches that.
