Title: Joystick mouting problem/question
Post by: ooby on December 27, 2005, 10:43:26 pm
G'day all,
I have a question/problem that I hope someone can help with.  I'm building my first cabinet and it's come time to put the control panel together.

I have bought the Competition Joysticks from Happ controls and I cannot get them together properly, the shaft of the JS doesn't go through the bottom far enough to attach the cir clip to it.  I think that the spacer is too big

Has anyone else had this problem or am I doing something totally stupid?  I don't really want to grind off some mm's off the shaft either

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sometimes the handle gets stuck in the base before it gets down all the way.  Jiggle it a little bit and push down.  Also keep in mind that you will have to push it down really hard to compress the spring enough for the e-clip groove to be exposed below the actuator (square plastic thing).

As I re-read your post I am reminded that a lot of new arcade things require brute force to get them together the first time.  Don't be afraid to push on it.

Thanks for that - solved my problem.
We were trying to push down the shaft but we had to push the bottom end to compress the spring and attach the cir / e-clip
