Title: monitor problem
Post by: maximebeauvais on December 23, 2005, 10:47:14 pm
Hi,

I'm building my mame arcade and i'm a newbie with arcade.

I have installed my arcadevga card with the ulimarc driver (not windows xp).

I'm using windows xp pro. the model of the monitor is 25K7131Everything is ok. the picture is clear BUT here is my problem:

When I'm moving the mouse, a line will follow the mouse. the line is like a spray line (like if you are using the spray fonction in ms paint)

what is that? is this a problem with the monitor or with the driver?

THANKS

Could be corrupt video ram or maybe the driver needs re-installing.

Check that the video card is slotted in all the way. I've seen situations where the card is only half way in the slot, still works but all sorts of funky crap pops up on the screen.

As stated above, but it could also be the resolution you're using it at.  I've seen situations where a particular card displays fine at say, 800x600@16bit, but if you push it to 32 bit you get symptoms like you describe here.
