Title: Why are a couple 1p buttons controlling the 2p controls?
Post by: dema on December 23, 2005, 10:26:13 pm
Does anyone using a GP Wiz 49 way encoder know why a couple of the 1p buttons are controlling both the first and second player? When playing two player games two of the buttons on the 1p side cause both players to do the same action at the same time, while the respective buttons on the 2p side are dead. I've wired it up so the 2p buttons only run to the second GP Wiz, so I'm quite confused as to why they'd be duplicated. Is there something that I can change within the settings to get this fixed?

Sounds like MAME is configured where the two P1 buttons are mapped to both P1 & P2.

Start a game in MAME.  Hit Tab and go to SETTINGS FOR ALL GAMES and do a mapping for Player 1 & Player 2 in that.

I'm a dolt. I thought you had to do it in the mame.ini file and I couldn't figure out how to do it there.
