Title: Holy wantage
Post by: ChadTower on December 23, 2005, 02:55:17 pm

Erf. (http://cgi.ebay.com/bally-fathom-pinball-machine_W0QQitemZ6238459132QQcategoryZ13725QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

That is WAY up there on my pinball dream list.  It may actually be #1 and it's within short driving distance.

Sadly, the funds are not there.  I would gladly sell off my Shadow if I thought I had time and could be sure to get this one.

Sigh.   ;D

Ugg you got me browsing e-bay pin auctions and came across this Elvira's Personal Home Use Only Pinball Machine (http://cgi.ebay.com/Elviras-Personal-Home-Use-Only-Pinball-Machine-HUO_W0QQitemZ6237101796QQcategoryZ13725QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

...and you get to meet the Queen of slowly sagging Boooo'soms (ha!) in person.

Man, I really hope she's not that hard up for money that she's hocking off her stuff on e-bay.  Used to love Elvira when I was a kid.

I saw here at a sci-fi convention in toronto this past summer--she is a genuinely nice person (unlike some star trek personalities) from the money she was raking in at that gig i can't imagine she's too hard up for cash...

Mmm, think I'll just dig up my Lynx and play some games of "Elvira and the party monsters"......which is quite a good pinball conversion actualy...

Guess Cassandra won't be saying "Leaving so soon ?" when you have piked up the pinball at her place ;)

I'd take care of her. She would have no worries. I'd build an alter to worship her upon....

This one's a good candidate for a reproduction playfield - the seller sent me a slew of closeup playfield shots and there's some hideous wear on there.

I personally think the buyer way overpaid. True it was ELVIRA'S ELVIRA but that STILL doesn't make it worth 5x as much as normal. Buyer would have been better off spending $3-$4K on the best one out there and getting Cassandra Peterson to autograph the translite or something.

I guess it depends on what she used to create that playfield wear.  This IS the Mistress of the Dark.

Heh.  I suppose I should've clarified that I meant the Fathom, but you probably knew what I meant.  I'd gladly take a little playfield wear from Elvira.

Honestly, I wouldn't care, if it meant that I could get one at a price I was able to pay... repro Fathom playfields are out there and probably will be again someday.
