well ill be damned... what are they hoping to accomplish?
i myself am not against file sharing if it is used sparingly, im not for downloading whole albums but downloading a song or two to see if you like an artist is ok.

It won't happen. This is clearly just a negotiating tactic. When someone adopts an extreme position sometimes the best approach is to adopt an equally extreme position at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Personally I'm tired of seeing ever more draconian IP laws (which only benefit a handful of giant corporations) being nodded through by politicians who are supposedly in office to serve the interests of ordinary citizens. I'm glad that at last some of them seem to be taking a stand. Pity it's only happening in France though.
