my idea is to use USB gampades that have been rewrired to joysticks and buttons to work as my controls. can i do this under MAME and or MAME32. i really have know idea about either software. i did read in the MAME FAQ that usb was supported.

Yes, MAME supports USB gamepads. You will need to enable joystick support in the MAME .ini file. In MAME 32 you can select this in the preferences window.

woot that real killer dude thanks a lot. cause i bought a usb gamepad without double checking. i just asumed it would work.(when you assume you make an ass out you u and me :) )

i tired the newedt verison of mame and it works!!!

ok i'm going with Happ's Ultimate Joystick and Pushbutton. i would like to hear people's oppions and experiance. the games i want to play are fighters like SF2 so i need the 8 way, also want to play ZSNES/NES games(i know about MAME support)
