This Happ 19" model SUM 20-C, made in Korea, 1996, Goldstar tube made by LG electronics, Korea, has a hula unlike any I've ever seen. It's terrible at startup, almost unnoticeable after it warms up. It also has a tiny sharp pointed wave in time with the hula. This begins halfway up the screen and becomes more noticeable as it goes up. The effect is that the picture shimmers like it has glitter in it. This comes and goes every few minutes, but I can't tie it to a bad plug or solder joint. The pic also has the horizontal distortion shown at the right. This is as good as it gets, any adjustment of the horizontal sub B or horizontal hold results in the vertical line becoming offset by 2 or 3 pixels an inch from the top. So, two questions--where can I get a cap kit for this thing? Hula is a power transistor problem, so which one is it, and is there a part number available? Thanks for any help

You have a kortek monitor.
(Sold as a Wico.)
Bob Roberts has the cap kit.

Sum-20C 19" color $7.00
Manual available here.

I had a 25" kortek that did the same thing.
Recapping the power supply section fixed it.(The hula that is)

Thanks for the help, dabone. Unfortunately, I can't find a working link to Bob Roberts, even after searching dozens of threads. There also appears to be a problem with atarijeff's site. Has Bob disappeared, or is his site just being rebuilt?

Bob's page ( or a good mirror judging from the domain :) )

I'll host the manual after I get to work tommorow, funny it was there this morning.

Thanks again. The atarijeff link is a good one, but it takes 10 or 15 minutes to load any page on my cable connection, and the service manual download freezes up about halfway through using IE. Mozilla won't connect to the site at all. Maybe just something in my system blocking it.
