Title: Crazy Climber Monitor FUZZY
Post by: soccerguy59 on December 18, 2005, 05:36:13 pm
I have the Japanese, white cabinet version.  The monitor was clear, used for 10 months, then when VERY FUZZY.  I had a cap kit done but now it is only FUZZY, can be played barely make out the numbers and letters.  My tech said may need a tube replacement, HUH?  Is the video board bad?

Looking for others who may have experience with this machine, tube replacement or some other solution available?  If monitor replacement, what mfg and model can be used?

Thanks to all who reply.

I'm assuming you've tried adjusting the focus control?

I have not and do not have a manual, do you know where that control is located?

I've never seen a monitor where the focus isn't located on the flyback.

Could the Flyback need replacement?

You have to be looking at the monitor while adjusting the focus because the slightest turn can make the monitor fuzzy or sharp. Don't try to eyeball it since its so difficult, use a mirror.

I am lucky with my cab, I can see the screen reflected in the glass over the screen and have always used that to check adjustments

try adjusting the control marked Screen on the flyback, sometimes having that too high / too low can prevent you from getting a good focus, best setting should produce a near perfect black (but if you look at the screen in a darkened room you should just see its lit)
