Title: Red out on WG9200
Post by: fairway2000 on December 10, 2005, 05:05:37 pm
Hello

I have a golden tee with a D9200 in it.The red will come and go as it likes.
Anything I should check? The monitor with no signal goes from Green, blue, white then black.Should red be there?
And most important if I pull the monitor what other maintenance would you do?
Cap it?

Thanks

Check the transistors on the neck board.

This is a know problem, they get very hot and fail.

WG said IC201,R244 and q213

Thanks

The early 9200's had a design problem with the neck board. Contact Wells-Gardner tech support as you may be entitled to a free replacement (re-designed) neck board.

From the WG troubleshooting chart for D9200 27", it says check IC201, R228, and Q202. (if R228 is open, replace IC201 and R228). But since you said that the color goes in and out, could probably just be a bad solder joint produced from the heat of the transistor.

Thanks for the info.I found the service bulletin on WG .Thanks Ken I emailed them.
Sounds like it could be that.Should some of the leads on IC202 not be soldered?

Thanks

O'ya. Should I be getting red as one of my colors with no signal to the monitor?
I don't have another D9200 to test it out.

There should be red, red makes other colors too. All of the colors will look off if red isn't there.

The neckboard is usually the culprit, but do you have the video connector hooked up right? Sometimes those wires work loose at the connector.  It's the first one. RED. It should even be a red wire, then a green one, then a blue one, then maybe black, then white.

Make sure it's connected securely and not just twisted together with a piece of tape.
