I have 2 monitors, each of which need cap kits. One is a G07 and the other a WG K7000 series.
The color on the G07 is really good, but it has some geometry issues and the tube has minor burn in (not visible when it's on) The WG colors aren't very good, but the rest of it is (no burn in, no geometry issues)
If I had to choose between keeping one or the other, which should I choose? Is one 'better' than the other? Is one easier to cap kit than the other?
Thanks

Having owned a number of both, I would vote for the GO7.

All my G07s have a heat problem all scorching in the same spot...
-
I would go with the monitor that has the better picture quality ;)

In general, I would go with the Electrohome G07. It generates a better picture.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll see which one I end up keeping, but maybe I'll even try my hand at a cap kit and make them BOTH beautiful.

Yeah, from what I have heard the Electrohome is better, and if Ken says so thats good enough for me :). I have owned only 2 K7000s, 1 19" and 1 25" and both had flyback problems. I think the heat cracks em.

I can't resist another shot at Wells-Gardner, because I'm STILL mad about this. All three of my defective flybacks had one tiny little hole blown out of the top in the exact same spot, down to the millimeter. Either the windings were too close to the surface, or there was a piece of trash in the mold when the insulation was poured. W-G wouldn't even offer to sell me a flyback at cost.

To anyone listening, if you have a WG K7000, have a flyback kit on hand. Bob roberts has em for $28.
