Title: Group Apology - Please Read
Post by: SirPeale on December 08, 2005, 08:20:10 am
I've had a complaint about my business practices of late, as I haven't been delivering my packages to the post office in a timely manner.

This is a legitimate complaint.  I can only apologize profusely to those involved.  My job has kept me at long hours, and I come home at night only to shovel food into my mouth and shuffle off to bed.  Thinking about other things has been shuffled to the bottom of the pile, and it shouldn't be that way.

I know this apology is too little too late for some.  "...you can be sure that I will never order anything from you again." was what one had to say.  And he's right for saying so, it *IS* unacceptable.

In the interim, I'm taking my site down.  And I apologize to anyone I may have put out.

I wouldn't take your site down... Just mention if you think there will be a wait.

We know that most / all of the destributers do this as their second job/hobby...  And real life and real jobs come first.  It is nice to know if its going to take a week or so to get an order back up.

Anyway, I really need some blue and red quick disconnects.  As a show of good faith on not caring about turn around time... Let me be the first to place an order on your site... Of course, I could see you reopening it, then everyone giving you their support... then your months off trying to fill all the !@#! orders! :)

Takes a man to post a broadcast public apology when 99% of the audience wasn't even aware of the issue beforehand.

I have ordered from Peale on two occasions.  Peale provides a valuable service to those of us who cannot find quick disconnects and also don't want to pay Happ $25 for a $4 lock.  I hope you will keep your site up and just disclaim that delivery time is two to three weeks.

Thank you for providing this service to our hobby.  Sometimes it's hard to be patient when you are excited about building an arcade cabinet to relive your childhood, so please everyone remember  that Peale isn't making a living doing this, he is doing you a favor.  Please treat him with the respect he deserves.

I apologize for my overwhelming charmingness.

Yes, definitely keep the site up and add a disclaimer saying you do this only as a hobby and turnaround time may be X weeks due to you having a life.

Wait, people were bitching that it took 2-3 weeks to get a package?

Yeah, I ordered from Peale too. Good quality disconnects that I couldn't find anywhere else. Didn't mind the wait. Package arrived as promised with shipping included to Canada!! That in my opinion is a good seller...

Just tell people 2-3 week turaround time like the others said.

Someone new here that does not *know* you though would prolly take offence.....

Wait, people were bitching that it took 2-3 weeks to get a package?

Yeah, somepeople here are really antsy.  I've seen posts complain about 2-3 days to get a package or complain about not getting an email back within 24 hours.

Peale's reputation as an individual speaks for itself.

May as well, you've got enough stress going on right now.  If you're not making much money from it, shut it down until things are calmer.

Yes, but if you look again, you will find that along with those packages, every delivery also came with nothing else.

Dammit Peale! You've been shipping me nothing for weeks now. Will you please start dedicating yourself to your family, and "real" job?

Peale everybody knows that this place is a hobby for the majority here. Anybody complaining about a 3 week turn around clearly doesn't understand that and needs to get out of the hobby.

I have not ordered from you , but from what I've heard from those who have I've only heard good things about the transactions. I wouldn't sweat one impatient individual. Let them order from a big company the next time and pay out the nose and still have to wait.

When in a situation such as Peale's, the best thing to do is send out an e-mail if you'll be late. The worst thing to do is to be silent. Thats when people get impatient.

Fair enough.  I think I've straigtened things out here enough to speed things up a bit.  The site is back up.

I think meat is illegal in Vermont.

Everything has to be dairy or at least made by Ben + Jerry.

I'm not crazy about dairy, either.  Milk is gross.

Not that I don't occasionally indulge in ice cream, and sour cream goes nicely with Mac and Cheese.  And cheese...mmmm.
