"Harold Pinter has been awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize for Literature, the highest honour available to any writer in the world. In announcing the award, Horace Engdahl, Chairman of the Swedish Academy, said that Pinter was an artist "who in his plays uncovers the precipice under everyday prattle and forces entry into oppression's closed rooms."

I'm sure he's been mentioned on many tv programs  :)

Yeah, but on Red Dwarf was trying to get rid of Pinter's book because he had no food and Pinter reminded him of a Pint which was food.

Saw most of it on TV last night. Pretty cool. He certainly doesn't pull any punches. It's just a shame he was too ill to deliver the speech in person.

One of his works was the basis for Seinfeld's The Betrayal Episode which was the backwards episode.
