Title: Looking For a Cabinet Style....
Post by: thndrckn on December 07, 2005, 03:13:53 pm
that is good for 2 player games and Golden Tee, yet has a small enough footprint that is doesn't dominate the room that its in.

Any suggestions? I was looking at the UA II cab but it may be bigger than I would like..

Thanks in advance..

Taito cab.

Cutouts let 2 guys fit in ok, just wide enough. Laid back monitor lets you play golden tee without smacking your hand. If you make it from scratch you might wanna make it a few inches wider, though.

what about a lowboy type cab?  finding/building something like this?

have a bigger control panel that would take both players + a trackball... the low monitor angle would help reduce busted knuckles from over euthustastic swings. :D (parden my atrocious spelling......)

That's essentially what the taito cab is... except cooler looking.

As far as footprint, pretty much all uprights are basically 24x24.
The space they take is vertical.
You have 5' ceilings?

Don't most multiplayer games, have a bigger foot print than single player games? games like golden tee seem bigger than pac man.

Many old style cabs are smallish. Satan's HOllow wasn't, though. Deep.

Sweet! I want that! Who wants to donate one to me?

The last two auctions I have been too, each had a workinig T-MEK. Both times they sold for about $350.  I threw some low bids out, but would have had to store the thing at someone else's house.

Ok, Im still undecided, I am leaning toward a taito style with a laid back monitor but I am assuming this would take eliminate using guns for shooters..
