Post by: rlemmon on December 07, 2005, 04:45:53 am
Hi. I am thinking about replacing my pc monitor with an arcade monitor. Do you guys unplug your monitor when your computer is turned off or is it ok to leave them plugged in ?
thanks.

I think you will find most people use something like this:

Yes, you should not leave it powered up.
How you go about un-powering it is... up to you. Easiest way would be to have everything plugged into a power bar.

does the power strip protect adequately against surges?  I have a $400+ betson and can't afford to lose it.  I currently have a surge protector with over 3000 joules I believe which has a warranty if you lose equiptment plugged into it.    My main worry has been whether the power strip would have the same protection

If you're worried, add a fuse to the power line.

Plug the smartstrip into your surge protector!
