I modified an open-source arcade emulation system coded in C++ so that it could be run directly from compact disc and DVD. I collected over 1600 original arcade game ROMs and even a few laserdisc-based games and built a custom launcher in Visual Basic and a web site coded in PHP. The game system is based on a complex emulator and when used in conjunction with arcade game ROMs, faithfully reproduce the games on a PC. The ROM images that the emulator utilizes are extracted from arcade games' original circuit board ROM chips. Therefore, the games are not simulations, but the actual games that appeared in arcades.
Also has a video featuring cinemarcades work.
